I chose to read this book largely because I don't know a lot about this period in history or the events that this book centers on--the fall of nationalist China. I was so happy to find that this book was truly fascinating. I often worry about getting bored in nonfiction books that seem to drone on with little to no intrigue, but this read wonderfully well. I think that the author did a wonderful job of providing in-depth, thorough information that was interesting. This book felt really well-researched and I learned a lot. I will definitely be looking for more from this author.
